NUKED! A Post-Apocalyptic Knave Hack

Before there was Rangers of the Midden Vale, there was NUKED! my first real attempt at writing a tabletop role-playing game. After being introduced to Ben Milton’s Knave by my good friend NondairyGiant, I decided to try my hand at game design once again in the form of an official hack. NondairyGiant and I looked over the existing rules that we liked, removed the stuff we didn’t, and added a whole bunch of things that we had come to enjoy the campaigns we played together at our virtual table (this was during the earliest parts of the COVID-19 Pandemic). After a few months of writing and several months of playtesting with our gaming group, we were satisfied with the end result and published NUKED! on DriveThruRPG.

With the rumblings of Zine Month, Nondairy Giant and I decided to throw our hat into the ring and we’re working on an updated version of NUKED! that will include new artwork by a variety of talented artists, new content, and updates to the rules to make the game more streamlined and easier to pick up and play. There will be more announcements as events unfold, to make sure to check in!
