“The Minutemen” is now available!
Pardon the tired expression, but it’s been a long road for my second novel, The Minutemen. The various members of the team that worked their asses off to put this book together (myself included) had an interesting Fall of 2021 and delay after delay kept putting the book’s release further and further back. Unfortunately we missed the holiday season, but as of today The Minutemen: A Story of the World Hereafter is available! Buy a signed copy from the Shop, and use the promocode MINUTEMEN on any order of $20 or more to get $5 off until the end of February - perfect if you haven’t read the first novel yet!
Writing this novel was an eye-opening experience. Admittedly during my time writing The Long Road, I was flying by the seat of my pants just writing whatever felt right at the time. That’s probably why it went through about five major revisions over the span of 8 or 9 years (fun fact: originally Locke was going to be a zombie hunter, since I began writing what could generously be called the “first draft” back during the height of zombie media). The Minutemen, however, was a much more organized process and the original draft, while revised and improved, was not too different than the final product. A few characters were changed around quite a bit and some scenes were added or removed as necessary for pacing, but the story I set out to tell was the story that was ultimately told.
I wanted to take a moment to thank the people that made The Minutemen possible. First I want to thank Garion Kyler of CEN Publications for everything he’s done. I also wanted to thank Cameron and Erica, my two editors, and my good friend Joe, whose insights and feedback have been invaluable. Of course I’d like to thank Eric Tonzola for somehow making an even more badass cover than The Long Road and for his endless patience helping me getting it formatted for print. And last, but not least, I’d like to thank my girlfriend Rachel and my grandmother Nancy, my two biggest fans by far, for their constant encouragement and support! Continuing Locke and Phoenix’s stories would not have been possible without these fine folks.
